Abercrombie by way of Germany
September 27, 2008 – 9:11 pm
What a wonderful young man to photograph. He was humble and embarrassed to have pictures taken and all he wanted was to make his mom happy. I hope my kids are as grounded and wonderful before they head off to college. J grew up here but has spent the last several years in Germany where his parents are missionaries.
Branding
September 4, 2008 – 5:25 pm
We had the privilege over Labor Day to attend a branding. In today’s world, it was really neat to see how the west was won. Several riders rode cutters and would cut the cows, bulls, and calves from the herd; several were ropers like my husband who roped the calves to brand, and several worked on the ground and in the shoots weighing, measuring, handling, etc. These longhorns are part of the Hoosier Longhorn herd owned by the Jones family.
Of course, I had to find the cow kids too!
